Major/Essential Functions
- Provides patient care to newborns, children, and adolescents in hospital setting
- Supervises medical students, residents, and advanced practice professionals in the hospital setting
- Participates in the education of medical students and residents
- Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship
- Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work
- Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complimentary to the institutional mission
- Ensures compliance with HIPPAA and billing regulations
- Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
- Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine’s Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility
- Upholds and promotes the values-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso
Required Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree, or foreign equivalent
- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatrics Residency Program
- Texas medical license, or eligibility for licensure in the State of Texas
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in teaching students and residents in pediatric hospital medicine
- Board certification in general pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics or the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics
- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship Program
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Emerging or established regional or national professional reputation for the rank of Associate Professor or higher

Pay Statement
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.
