Major/Essential Functions

• Provide patient care to newborns, children, and adolescents in hospital setting.
• Supervise medical students, residents, and advanced practice professionals in the hospital setting.
• Participate in the education of medical students and residents.
• Engage in the advancement of scientific knowledge through research and scholarship.
• Serve the academic community through participation in institutional governance such as committee work.
• Contribute to the community through academically-related public service complimentary to the institutional mission.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations.
• Demonstrate professionalism in accordance with the Paul L Foster School of Medicine’s Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility.
• Participate in committees and other administrative duties within the department and the school of medicine.
• Uphold and promote the values-based culture of TTUHSC El Paso.

Required Qualifications

• M.D. or D.O. degree, or foreign equivalent.
• Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatrics Residency Program.
• Texas medical license, or eligibility for licensure in the State of Texas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Board certification in general pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics or the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics for the rank of assistant professor or higher.
• Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship Program
• Bilingual (English and Spanish).
• Emerging or established regional or national professional reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher.
• Experience in teaching students and residents in pediatric hospital medicine.

Pay Statement
